The Gospel of Peace

I grew up in the Baptist church. The Baptist movement was a separate movement from either the Protestant or Catholic movements and ran parallel to the Protestant Reformation. Baptists are neither Protestant nor Catholic. They are a form of non-denominationalism, I guess.

The Baptist faith is essentially one of independence from larger organized churches like the Catholic Church. Although there are associations for Baptists, each church is autonomous and independent.

The church I grew up in was all hellfire and brimstone. We got saved every Sunday. Members of the church would be all glory to God on Sunday and act like the devil the rest of the week. (I know this because child abuse was prevalent, at least in my family, and my mother committed adultery with another member of the church.)

I had religious trauma for years. (The Healing Code by Dr. Alexander Loyd helped me heal that, but that's another discussion.)

My sister and I no longer talk to each other. She got me back into church, but she left the church. (I have no idea why.) The one piece of advice she gave me that was worth listening to was to listen to Dr. Jim Richards of Impact Ministries.

Impact Ministries

Impact Ministries is a ministry in Alabama. Dr. Richards teaches what he calls the Gospel of Peace. The Gospel of Peace is not another doctrine for you to memorize. It is an explanation of the Bible that makes clear in plain terms how much God loves us. He is not here to hurt us. In fact, He loved us so much He sent Jesus to die in our place, and once we accept the gift of salvation, our accounts are settled with Him. We can grow in the faith and live the life designed for us by God.

This is an excellent place, especially for beginners, to start their journey in the faith. Dr. Richard's teachings about the Gospel of Peace will give you a solid foundation in the faith and help you get started following the path of Christ. These resources are free.
