There are so many different ways to study the Bible, just like there are different translations of the Bible.
For Bible study, I prefer the NASB or ESV Bibles. These are two of the most accurate translations of the Bible, and they're pretty clear. My Warfighter Study Bible is in the ESV translation, and I really love it.
What's important is when you decide you want to read the Bible, choose a translation you feel comfortable with. The NIV is really good for daily reading if you want to understand the Bible and get the spirit of the content. You can always choose to have a study Bible in an accurate translation and then have a Bible you can read daily.
If it is your first time reading the Bible, I would get a Bible that is easy to understand. Although the King James Version was once a relevant translation, you'll find it to be difficult to read, especially if this is your first time reading it. What I want you to understand here is that reading the Bible is essential to your growth as a Christian because it is God speaking to you.
Below you'll find relevant articles to help you with reading the Bible, prayer, and other aspects of practical Christianity.
